Bangladesh cricket team is also known as “The Tigers”, it is a national cricket team representing Bangladesh. In 2000 It became the 10th Test team in the cricket world. Bangladesh cricket team played its first international cricket in 1979 in ICC Trophy in England. It was the draw tournament with two victory and two defeats. After seven years, this team played its first one-day international match against Pakistan in 1986 in Asia Cup. After its victory over ICC Trophy in 1997, it qualified for the cricket world cup in 1999.

In the year 2001, Bangladesh team had played eight test matches. This team toured Zimbabwe and lost all the Tests during the series. Similarly, for the first time, this team toured to New Zealand for the test series of two matches and again lost both the tests by an innings.
